A new memorial honoring Chase Soares was recently unveiled in Bourne as part of the growing “Drive Safe for Chase” campaign focused on distracted driving awareness and road safety education.
Located near Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical School, the memorial serves as both a tribute to Chase’s life and a reminder for drivers to stay focused behind the wheel. The campaign’s central message — “Someone is waiting for you” — encourages drivers to slow down, avoid distractions, and make it home safely.
The initiative was created by the Team Chase Foundation, founded by Chase’s family after his tragic passing in 2020. Rather than allowing grief to define his legacy, the foundation has transformed loss into a mission centered around kindness, community outreach, and distracted driving prevention.
The campaign continues gaining support throughout Massachusetts through memorial installations, awareness efforts, educational outreach, and public safety messaging designed to inspire safer driving habits.
Brooke DeBarros, Chase’s mother and founder of the Team Chase Foundation, says the goal is simple: if Chase’s story can help save even one life, then sharing it matters.
The Drive Safe for Chase campaign is expanding its mission through community engagement, advocacy, and emotional storytelling to protect families and create safer roads for everyone.
